Full Day, Departure after Breakfast at 8:30
A few kilometers from Malindi, we will reach the bridge over the Sabaki River (the river that crosses Tsavo East Park, known as Galana, and is called Sabaki in the last stretch before flowing into the Indian Ocean).
To reach the golden beach, we will travel along roads surrounded by palm trees and dunes; in some places, the path is covered with coconut shells to prevent the vehicle from getting damp.
The name of this beach comes from the bronze/gold-colored sand, rich in pyrite. During low tide, the reflection of the sun creates a sparkling golden sheen! You can lie in the sun, swim in the ocean, and take a walk along the beach. Digging in the sand with your hands, you might find golden flakes!
We will continue towards Robinson Island, passing through the largest salt pans in Kenya, where we may spot flamingos. Robinson Island will allow you to savor the beauty and tranquility of untouched nature. A gentleman nicknamed Charon will ferry you across a short stretch of sea in his canoe to reach Robinson's beach. Here, in a typical African restaurant, you will be served a lunch featuring the famous Robinson red crab, prawns, oysters gratinated with coconut, fish, coconut rice, salad, fresh fruit, and Arabic coffee with cinnamon. (Drinks are not included). After some relaxation, we will head to Marafa / Canyon (also known as Hell's Kitchen), where you will meet the local guide who will share stories about this place and guide you through the canyon's gorges, whose color changes throughout the day depending on the angle of the sunlight. We will then wait for the sunset, with the breathtaking colors typical of Africa. Return to your resort around 7:30 PM.
Note: Bring your passport and sneakers for walking in the Canyon.
